Negotiations continue for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee employer-based and Marketplace plans

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) and Methodist Le
Bonheur Healthcare today announced they have reached an agreement regarding BlueCare
Tennessee health plans that serve Tennessee Medicaid members.

Effective immediately, the new agreement supports in-network access to Methodist and Le
Bonheur Children’s Hospital facilities for members covered by BlueCare Tennessee,
TennCareSelect, CoverKids and BlueCare Plus, the Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP).

“We’re pleased to continue our vital and beneficial work alongside Methodist Le Bonheur
Healthcare for the people of West Tennessee,” said Amber Cambron, president and CEO of
BlueCare Tennessee. “This contract ensures that BlueCare members will be able to access
health care, long-term support services, childhood wellness visits and more with support from
the teams they trust.”

BlueCare Tennessee has managed health care for Tennesseans on behalf of the TennCare
Medicaid program since its creation in 1994. The program works proactively to help members
overcome obstacles to getting needed care and provides support to communities across the
state. Currently, BlueCare serves more than 630,000 members statewide, including roughly
200,000 members in West Tennessee.

“We are grateful to our provider partners in the Memphis area who delivered vital support for
BlueCare members while we worked to reach agreement,” said Cambron.

BCBST and Methodist leaders continue negotiations toward an agreement that would restore
access for members covered through their employer or an individually purchased health plan.
BlueCross Medicare Advantage members are not impacted by this dispute.
